Donation of  ReadingMile Storybooks

On-going since July 2018

I’ve been working with my mom and my brother to create the ReadingMile® Storybook Series for months to encourage parents to discover the value of reading aloud to children, which naturally inspires children to discover the pleasure of reading and ultimately become life-long readers.

So far, we’ve donated 6,264 storybooks to the children in need in Hong Kong and China:

• Plan International HK (for their charity sales at the HK Books Fair in July 2018)
  Plan International China (to look after the stay-behind children)
  Po Leung Kuk Kindergartens
  Po Leung Kuk Primary Schools
  Hong Kong Public Libraries
  Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service, LC-HKS
  Wuhan Youth Foundation
  14 kindergartens in Xian, China (which looks after the stay-behind children)
  5 kindergartens in Shanghai, China

About ReadingMile® Storybook Series

ReadingMile® Storybook Series is created to:

1. allow parents to discover the value of reading aloud to children, which naturally inspires children to discover the pleasure of reading and ultimately become life-long readers;
2. help parents and teachers raise positive and joyful children.

7 Story Themes

ReadingMile® Storybook Series consists of 7 themes, and each theme comprises a series of stories that are suitable for children of different age groups.

1. Moral Smart: The ability to learn the difference between right and wrong
2. Safety Smart: The skill to keep oneself and the others safe
3. Body Smart: The knowledge and skill to keep oneself healthy
4. Self Smart: The ability to understand and accept oneself
5. People Smart: The ability to perceive and respond to other people
6. World Smart: The knowledge to adapt to and preserve the world
7. Word Smart: The ability to use language effectively
